Objectives

  1. Students will read the book Little Brother by Cory Doctorow.
  2. Students will participate in a discussion group regarding their reading of the book Little Brother by Cory Doctorow by answering teacher led discussions and replying to their peers.
  3. Students will discuss the technologies that are used in the book, how they were used, and how they could be used in their everyday life abiding by the rules of digital citizenship in the discussion area created.
  4. Students will compare and contrast the way students in different cultures would use the technologies used in the book in their everyday lives and discuss why the differences and similarities exist.
  5. Students will discuss the social issues contained in the book, how they were dealt with, and how they would deal with them.

Activities

  1. Students will read the book Little Brother and participate in discussions based on the book.
  2. Students will participate in discussions regarding the technologies used in the book and the social issues that were solved.
